GOLF
The Costa del Sol with
its sunny climate and stunning landscapes has long
been a popular tourist destination for Europeans.
To supply an important sector of tourism, la Costa
del Sol has a fine selection of golf courses in
the popular areas, which count with the best
installations and where the golf players can enjoy
this selective sport surrounded by nature and by
the sea.
Now, the municipalities
which have this type of installation are Rincón de
la Victoria, Malaga, Benalmádena, Mijas,
Marbella,
Estepona, Benahavís, Manilva, and inland of the
province, at a stones throw from the coast, there
is Alhaurín el Grande, and Alhaurín de la Torre.
There are also four in the province of Cadiz but
which form part of the tourist unit based on golf,
and they are La Alcaidesa, Sotogrande, San Roque
Club, and Valderrama.
There are more
than forty golf courses on the Costa del Sol, of
which ten are in
Marbella area. It is now
one of the best areas in Spain for golf and offers some of
the top courses in the world. The fine weather allows golf
to be popular all year round
